Meet The Team
Stephen H. Perry, J.D. '78
Director of Planned Giving
Steve is one of the newest members of the development staff. As a former attorney and real estate office owner/broker from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Steve brings a refreshing perspective to Furman’s program to attract increased deferred giving. “Since my law school days I’ve always had an interest in the ways in which thoughtful estate planning can benefit both the charitable donor and their heirs, as well as provide enhanced cash gifts and endowment to a non-profit like Furman.” The Because Furman Matters campaign was the impetus for Steve to return to Furman and roll up his sleeves to promote planned giving as a great way to secure a “lasting legacy for a worthy university”. The campaign goal in Because Furman Matters is $400 million, so it will take the shared sacrifice of many to accomplish this ambitious target.
